Whispers of the Muse is a site dedicated to creative expression. All submissions are reviewed and considered and most subject matters are acceptable. (See limitations listed below.)
WRITING GUIDELINES
Submitted Document Specifications and Important Notes
1) All documents must be submitted in Word doc or RTF format.
2) Text is to be 12pt. Times New Roman, single spaced, double spaced between paragraphs with no indentions. Sections or chapters must be indicated by number or three asterisks.
3) Documents over 35 pages long at this format may be broken into two or more pieces and will be linked for continuous reading.
4) Submitted pieces suitable for our Literary Longs section or pieces that represent Long Story Arcs will be broken into several pieces and cover several consecutive weekly updates. Final decision for section placement of all accepted pieces is Riley's and this decision will be discussed with the author prior to placement.
5) If you have a preferred photo or image you'd like to suggest for your piece on our site, please send it along with credit, if known, to the originator of the image. All efforts are made to utilize proposed images, but final creative decision is Natalie's and made in an effort to retain the integrity of the site's visual intent.
6) All authors are required to submit a short bio for our Bios Page.
7) Deadline for all pieces is Wednesday of the week before the Sunday update, giving Natalie (our Site Tech Saint) time to create the many pages necessary for the next week's work.

Writing Submissions Limitations Include:
We will not accept any Real Russ or Real Person Fan Fiction that is disrespectful to the actor, performer or personality depicted in the story.
We accept well written erotica with strong character development and plot, but do not accept down and dirty porn stories. (Our moms read here!)
We do not accept slash type stories that explore man on man or woman on woman sexual content.
Simple grammar, punctuation and spelling corrections may be made, but it is the major responsibility of the author to submit well written work.
Whispers of the Muse reserves the right to reject any piece that does not fit within our guidelines for well written and entertaining stories.
ARTWORK GUIDELINES
Submitted Artwork Specifications and Important Notes
1) All artwork and photo submissions must be original.
2) Artwork
and photography considered acceptable includes original:
Drawings - Pencil, charcoal, conti crayon, etc.
Paintings - Watercolor, acrylics, oils, etc.
Misc. Mediums - Collage, quilts, sculpture, beadwork, jewelry, macramé,
etc.
Photography - Photo manipulations will be rejected, unless the submitting
photographer had taken the original photograph.
2) All pieces must be scanned and submitted in a high resolution format at a resolution no greater than 300 dpi.
3) Artwork to be displayed in our Gallery will appear on the individual artist's own page.
4) All artists are required to submit a short bio for our Bios Page. Should the artist wish to offer an explanation of their inspiration or technique, please submit that as well.
5) All art
